What to Pack for a Kid-Friendly Beach Vacation

What to Pack for a Kid-Friendly Beach Vacation

Beach vacations with kids can be magical — if you pack smart. The last thing you want is to realize you forgot a sun hat or a favorite swimsuit just as the waves start calling.

Here’s your go-to packing list to keep everyone covered, comfy, and meltdown-free from the airport to the sand.

🧳 Kid-Friendly Beach Packing Checklist

1. UPF Swimwear
Pack at least two swimsuits per kid, ideally with UPF 50+ protection. That way you’ve always got a dry one on deck, and their skin stays safe while they play.

2. Sun Hats
Essential. Choose wide-brim or legionnaire styles with chin straps. Bonus: ours are packable and don’t lose their shape in a suitcase.

3. Rash Guard or Long Sleeve Top
For full sun coverage and post-swim warmth. Great for windy beaches or kids who stay in the water forever.

4. Flip Flops or Water Shoes
Protect little feet from hot sand, sharp shells, or rocky shorelines.

5. Lightweight Layers
A breezy cover-up or hoodie is perfect for cool mornings or evening strolls by the water.

6. Reusable Water Bottle & Snacks
Hydration = happiness. Bring snacks they love in sand-friendly containers (think fruit, crackers, pouches).

7. Beach Toys & Mesh Bag
Just the essentials: a shovel, a bucket, maybe a ball. Keep it light and toss them in a mesh bag that lets sand shake out.

8. Wet Bag + Extras
For soggy suits and surprise spills. Also: bring extra undies, because... you already know.

✈️ Pro Tip: Pack the Important Stuff in a Carry-On

Sunscreen, swimsuits, a hat, and one full outfit — just in case your luggage goes on its own vacation.

Whether you're road-tripping to the coast or hopping a flight to paradise, packing right means fewer errands, fewer meltdowns, and way more fun.
